About Barnett Museum and Preservation Society, Inc.
The Barnett Museum and Preservation Society, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida is a living tribute to the life and legacy of Mr. William B. Barnett. Mr. Barnett was the founder of the Barnett Bank and lived in Jacksonville, Florida in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. His son's former mansion where he lived for his last few years in the historic Springfield district of Jacksonville and many of the Barnett family furnishings and decorations contained in that beautiful home are the focus of our preservation efforts.
Mr. Barnett was a devoted Freemason and the family made sure his son's mansion and his legacy were in good hands when the family sold it to become the home of one of the oldest Masonic lodges in the great State of Florida:
